Recently, we made a trip to Santa Maria Valley in California for a project that is currently underway.

Presqu’ile (press-Keel) Creole for “almost an island,” was once a gathering place on the Gulf Coast for generations of the Murphy family. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina ended an era.

 

December of 2007, the family purchased vineyard property and produced it’s first vintage in 2008, calling it Presqu’ile.  The winery’s name honors that beloved place and all that it represented.

 

 

The new winery will be opened in May of 2013.
