For all you Mad Men fans out there who are upset about the wait until March 2012 for the 5th season premiere, we decided to do a blog series on mid-modern design. Today we are going to feature some of the show’s popular set designs, but first we wanted to hear from former set designer for AMC’s Mad Men, Amy Wells, who was recently a keynote speaker at NeoCon. Amy shares with Interior Design Magazine her favorite designers from that era- John Lautner, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Paul McCobb, Dorothy Draper (no relation to Don Draper) and Tony Duquette- and that she used to browse through early decorating magazines and books like Fifties Furniture, The Doubleday Book of Interior Decorating and Encyclopedia of Styles for inspiration.

Her are some of her more notable interior design sets from Mad Men.
