The Perfect Getaway

We are featured in this month’s At Home in Arkansas! Our clients’, Jeff and Melanie Fox, beautiful Greers Ferry Lake home is displayed in a 10 page spread in the June issue. Below are some quotes and photos taken from the article Beach-style Chic. You can read the complete article on AtHomeArkansas.com.
At Home: This place looks as if it could be at the beach-one part classic Cape Cod and one part casual Seaside, Florida. But it also feels right at home on this hillside near Heber Springs.
Kevin Walsh: The homeowners, Jeff and Melanie Fox, wanted this house to feel different than their home in Little Rock. That house has darker colors, and from the beginning they talked about this house being light and bright, traditional but casual. Melanie showed the architect, Ellen Yeary, and me some images of houses she liked; they had a Southern style we interpreted as the kind of place you’d find at the beach or on a lake.
A special thank you to Diane Carroll and Nancy Nolan with At Home in Arkansas for the great article and photographs! The June issue of At Home in Arkansas is now available.
Bear-Hill Interiors in May Issue of Southern Living

Owners of Bear-Hill Interiors, Kevin Walsh and Brett Pitts’ 1969 ranch home in Hot Springs, Arkansas was recently featured in the May 2010 issue of Southern Living. Their weekend home overlooking Lake Hamilton was transferred from a dated ranch house to a open, multi-functional home.
Kevin tells Southern Living that, “The whole house is really just one open room…The challenge was in the space planning.”
The main focus in the dining area is the beautiful view. The table is centered in front of the wall of windows.
The wall-to-wall carpet was removed and replaced with glossy hardwoods and the walls were all painted white (Sherwin-Williams Pure White). Kevin is quoted as saying, “We didn’t want anything overly stimulating. When we invite our friends to the lake, they add all the color.”
“When it comes down to it, this place is just our casual, comfortable retreat from the real world,” says Kevin, whose day-to-day life as a designer includes lots of color and pattern. “The simple white palette is the perfect escape for us.”
Hurry to the newsstands now to get your copy!! A special thank you to Jennifer Berno and Alexandra Rowley from Southern Living.
