We are in love with the new sphere shaped lighting fixtures. These industrial shaped chandeliers have both a contemporary and old world feel about them.We used this style lighting in several rooms in our Fox beach house project.
It appears that we aren’t the only ones who are obsessed with this lighting. Greige and Verdigris Vie both featured these sphere shaped fixtures on their blog. Greige even referred to them as steampunk pieces.
Verdigris Vie’s Vitania says “Taking inspirations from old armillaries, these spherical rings are more like artistic sculptures suspended from the ceiling. They are captivating and dramatic, and a fabulous addition to a foyers, dining rooms and kitchens.” We couldn’t agree more.

Is there a new approach to design that is transcending styles? Once upon a time a design was broken down into categories. It was either traditional or contemporary, French country or beach chic, but now times are changing and designers are breaking down the barriers of labels.
Blogger and lifestyle expert Eddie Ross recently told Shelterpop that today’s method of design is about “mixing and matching of different styles from different time periods. We’re making our own rules rather than having someone else dictate them for us. ”
Designers are not only mixing styles of furniture, but according to Shelterpop, they are “altering furniture and accessories to fit one’s lifestyle.” What do you think about the new approach to design?

While in New York City I like to stay at the beautiful London Hotel in Midtown. The luxury hotel is centrally located and the perfect place to spend your nights while in the city that never sleeps. Take a look for yourself and see why The London is the place to be.
The London Hotel is truly inspiring. Not only are the rooms and suites beautifully decorated, but the legendary chef Gordon Ramsay’s team will be preparing your meals.
